Male moon/wood elf ranger (longbow) Neutral neutral
Age: 217
Appearance: Lean build, 6’ tall. Pale complexion that has always set him apart from his peers, so he has learned to use natural camouflage like mud and leaves to better perform his duties as a ranger. Straight white hair with dark streaks to his mid-back, often kept in a braided half ponytail because I can’t make male characters that don’t wear their hair half up. Eyes are a dark forest green (that borders on teal) with the characteristic gold flecks of the moon elves. Like most of his kin he is not expressive, preferring a small smirk to an outright laugh or a mere furrowing of his brow to yelling and snarling.
History:
Born on full solar eclipse (Miras eclipsing in DM’s campaign), hence name
Moon elf father, absent
Wood elf mother
Always took to the bow and was actually very good, but his peers put him down because of his heritage--even though his skills were notable he grew up not believing himself to be adequate in a fight and kind of just reluctantly accepted that he could hit crazy targets
When he was still relatively young his mother was killed by poachers as he watched from the bushes, frozen, unable to make himself move
Returned home with his mother’s body, burned it on a pyre, and left to track the poachers
Found them, made sure they understood who he was and why he was there, and killed them--left one alive to tell the tale
Word got around of a moon elf killing in cold blood, and when he shows his face in towns sometimes people recognize him and give him trouble so he usually wears a hood
Recently he’s been hanging out on the outskirts of society and picking up postings for controlling “problem” animals
If he can get around killing them he does, like relocating them--he hates to see animals in pain and truly hates killing them just for the sake of killing them (as opposed to hunting for food)
Et cetera:
Sensitive (“weak”) to imperiled children and oftentimes women who do not fall under his “don’t expect me to save those who can’t save themselves” deal
Also a bleeding heart for animals and will absolutely derail the current mission to save a baby squirrel or a bird with a broken wing
Views evil beasts as simply misunderstood, firmly believes that all creatures have emotion
Enjoys learning new elvish ballads to play on his viol
Loves cooking, carries a carved spice box with him
Dry sense of humor and actions sometimes border on chaotic neutral
If a person purposely doesn’t comment on his appearance he’ll be much more likely to speak to them
